    Nov. 21
    At 8:35 a.m., Nathan R. Smith, 31, of Lebanon was arrested by Marion County Deputy Sheriff Ben Lancaster Jr. on charges of fleeing police and operating on suspended license. Deputy Lancaster observed Smith operating a vehicle in the parking lot of Cut-Rate Liquors and attempted a traffic stop due to knowledge of Smith having outstanding warrants out of Marion, Taylor and Nelson counties. Smith fled in the vehicle, and was taken into custody a short time later on Highway 289.

  • Yearly fatality count is up from this time last year but down statewide

    During the month of October 2018, there were 16 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor, and Washington.
    There were three fatal collisions during the month of October in the Post 15 area.
    • Odellia Jones, 88 years old of Russell County was killed on Oct. 3, 2018 in Russell County.
    • Aaron Petranek, 38 years old of Metcalfe County was killed on Oct. 6, 2018 in Metcalfe County.
