    - Wade Lumber Company, located at Woodlawn Avenue in Lebanon, reported the theft of 95 wooden pallets valued at $665.
    - American Wood Fibers, located at 390 Warehouse Road, reported damage to light wiring on its trailers. Estimated amount of damage is reportedly $500.

  • Lebanon woman accused of stealing thousands from church

    Beechfork Baptist Church in Gravel Switch is suing its former bookkeeper after she allegedly embezzled thousands of dollars from the church over the past several years.
    According to the complaint, filed on July 6 in the Marion Circuit Clerk’s Office, Beechfork Baptist Church alleges that Connie Tungate of Lebanon wrote and cashed numerous checks made payable to herself (or family members) from December 2014 to April 5, 2018.
    Tungate was a member of the church, employed as its bookkeeper and served as the church treasurer from 2014-2018.

  • Trial delayed for Lebanon man accused of rape

    The jury trial for Emmett Lee Cowherd, 54, of Lebanon, who is accused of rape, burglary and assault, has been pushed back due to a delay in DNA evidence.
    Cowherd was arrested March 27 after being indicted in Marion Circuit Court for charges of first-degree rape, first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and first-degree persistent felony offender.
    He has pled not guilty.
