    Wednesday, Feb. 4 - Scrambled eggs and toast or cereal and toast, peach cup, pineapple, juice and milk

  • Bethlehem honor rolls announced

    The following Bethlehem High School students from Marion County have been named to the honor roll for the first semester of the 2014-2015 academic year.
    “All A” honor roll
    Sophomores, James Blanford and Brett Gordon; and juniors, Gaubrie Humphress and G.J. Olde Loohuis.
    “A-B” honor roll
    Freshman Ethan Sparks; juniors, Dylan Gordon and Henry Smith; and senior Rebecca Bowman.

  • Clark earns degree

    In December, 561 students completed their studies and were graduated from University of the Cumberlands (UC).
    A combination of undergraduate as well as graduate degrees were awarded based on completion of requirements.
    Ashley Clark of Lebanon earned a graduate degree.
    Twenty-one students earned a master’s in business administration while 28 received their master’s as education specialists.

  • Lebanon native named KCTCS Vice President

    Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) President Jay Box announced Jan. 22 that Lebanon native Wendell Followell has been named vice president. He will oversee the system’s finance, human resources and facilities departments as well as the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services. He replaces Ken Walker, who is retiring January 30.

  • Students make dean’s list at UK

    For the first time, more than 6,000 students have made the University of Kentucky Dean’s List. UK has released its dean’s list for the Fall 2014 semester.
    A record high 6,366 students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance. That’s an increase of nearly 500 since Fall 2013 and nearly 900 more than Spring 2014.

  • MCPS Writing Spotlight


    Marion County Public Schools will be featuring a student “Writing Spotlight” each week. Student writing samples from the on demand assessment grades (fifth, sixth, eighth, 10th and 11th) will be published to showcase students’ work. On an on demand writing assessment, students are given a particular situation and they respond to a writing task.
