  • Reunion held Sept. 14

    Benedict-Shewmaker reunion was held Sunday, Sept. 14 at Masonic Temple in Lebanon.
    There were 72 family members present and one guest. Oldest member present was Lorene Bagwell. Youngest present was Grant Mathis from Berea. Traveling the furthest was Marvin and Marsha Phipps of Dublin, Ohio.
    The 2015 reunion will be held on the second Sunday of September 2015.

    Monday, Sept. 22: Meatloaf, roasted potatoes and carrots, fruit cup, whole wheat bread.
    Tuesday, Sept. 23: Layered salad with turkey and peas, crackers, chocolate pudding, raisins.
    Wednesday, Sept. 24: Hot beef sandwich, gravy, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, congealed strawberry dessert, whole wheat bread.
    Thursday, Sept. 25: Closed.
    Friday, Sept. 26: Honey glazed chicken, baked sweet potato, seasoned cabbage, fruit cobbler, whole wheat bread.
    All meals served with skim milk.

  • Intelligrated Inc. in Danville expected to create 50 new jobs

    Gov. Steve Beshear has announced that Intelligrated Inc. will grow its operations in Danville, five years after it had initially revealed plans to move the operation to Ohio.
    Intelligrated manufactures automated material handling and robotics systems. It is expected to create up to 50 jobs and invest $1.6 million into the project. Hiring is expected to begin in the coming months.

  • Post 15 marijuana eradication

    The Kentucky State Police, Cannabis Suppression section has released marijuana eradication numbers from January to July, 2014.  Statewide, 168,115 outdoor plants and 1,802 indoor plants have been eradicated at a total plant value of $343,776,199. 38.  34 arrests have been made.
    More than 32,00 outdoor plants and 296 indoor plants were eradicated in the Post 15 area and valued at $66,007,082.50.  8 arrests have been made.  Post 15 has the 3rd highest amount of marijuana plants eradicated to date with over 19,628 plants eradicated in the month of July.
