  • Lebanon woman receives Catholic leadership award


  • Hosparus needs volunteers; to host free training

    Hosparus Green River needs volunteers in Adair, Green, Marion, Metcalf, Taylor and Washington counties and will offer a free two-part training session, 5:30 – 9 p.m., Thursday, July 10, and Thursday, July 24 (light supper provided) at its Campbellsville office, 295 Campbellsville ByPass (behind Coltons). Participants must attend both sessions to become Hosparus volunteers. Pre-registration is required by Thursday, July 3.   • Skate park?

    Two weeks ago, I wrote a story on some local skateboarders, Michael Truitt and his son, Jackson. 

    I wanted to do the story for several reasons, the biggest one being that I think skateboarding is cool. Probably the second biggest reason is because I had a chance to feature a unique sport.

  • Bland family to celebrate 70th family reunion

    Joseph Lafayette Bland was born 11-24-1881 and died 4-26-1943. He married Susan Ethel Robinson who was born 11-7-1882 and died 6-7-1967. They were married on 10-14-1902 at the Holy Name of Mary Church in Calvary. Their children were George Hite, Mary Thelma, Anna Matilda, Joseph Henry, William Abbott, Bernard Lafayette, Thomas Otha and Catherine Helen.

  • Sounding the trumpets

    The man considered by many to be the finest baroque trumpeter in the world performed to a small but appreciative audience Saturday evening in Lebanon.
    Friedemann Immer of Germany joined Kentucky Baroque Trumpets for the second time June 21 for a concert at St. Augustine Church before an audience of around 50 people.
    “Friedemann, he’s just unbelievable. He makes us all better just playing with him,” said Don Johnson, the director and founder of Kentucky Baroque Trumpets.

  • 6-25-14 Birthday Announcement


    Marley Jo Stout celebrated her 5th birthday June 22, 2014. She is the daughter of Jay and Stacey Stout of Lebanon. Grandparents are Kenneth and Wilma Buckman, Philip and Karol George, all of Lebanon, and the late Jim Stout. She has two sisters, Kenlee and Shelby Stout.

  • Knights present baseball awards

     On June 1, the Marion County Knights baseball team hosted its annual end of the year awards banquet. Senior pitcher Joey Costello swept the banquet taking three awards, including MVP.  Below is a list of all the players who received awards:
