  • MCHS students organize Olivia Ford Memorial event

    Marion County High School will have an Olivia Ford Memorial ceremony at the school's softball field prior to the home softball game May 4 at 6 p.m.
    Ford, who was set to graduate this year, passed away in February in a car accident.

    Many Americans don’t understand the commitment soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines make when they enter the military. Whether by draft or enlistment, every single one signed a check made out to the United States of America for an amount “up to and including my life.” And because only about 7 percent of Americans have made that commitment it is imperative that we pledge to caring for these heroes.
    There are thousands of veteran’s organizations. This is a story about a unique organization – Honor Flight.

  • Tractor Supply spotlights local goods, talents

    Tractor Supply Company in Lebanon is showcasing the talents of local craft makers, artisans and growers during its spring Market Day event Saturday, May 12.
    Community members are invited to celebrate spring by shopping local, homemade and homegrown goods at the Lebanon Tractor Supply from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    Crafters and growers will display their goods for sale in tented areas in front of the Tractor Supply store.

  • SOFTBALL: Lady Knights play one for Ford on May 4

    This one’s for Olivia Ford.
    Just over two months after the former Little League softball player was killed in a vehicle accident, the Marion County Lady Knights will honor Ford before their game at Talley Field against the Nelson County Lady Cardinals on Friday.
    The Lady Knights were going to play the Russell County Lakers but Russell County has to make up a district game against Metcalfe County. Lady Knights Head Coach Erin Benton said rescheduling the game is in the works.
