  • Couple celebrates 50 years of marriage

     

    Martha Jean and Francis Daniel Lyvers celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 24, 2018 with a Mass at St. Monica Church followed by a reception.
    The couple was married on June 29, 1968 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in St. Francis. Danny is retired from Marion County Board of Education. Martha, the former Martha Blair, is a former employee of US Bank and Loretto Childcare. They have four children and four grandchildren and now reside in Bardstown.

  • Haydens will celebrate 55th anniversary

     

    George and Sarah Hayden of Lebanon will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2018. The couple was married on June 29, 1963 at Saint Charles Catholic Church in St. Mary.
    George is retired from General Electric in Louisville. Sarah, the former Sarah Downs, is a homemaker. The couple has five children, Eugene, Curtis, Eric, Robby and Vicky Hayden. They also have several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

    Dave A. Spurlock of Webster, Kentucky, reported the theft of a $250 Ryobi pressure washer and a $200 Husqvarna backpack blower, which were removed from his work trailer.

    Celebrate Recovery and Celebration Place helps people find healing in Jesus from life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups. We’re committed to see people set free and experience hope and transformation. It starts at 6 p.m. every Tuesday night at the Lebanon United Methodist Church. The schedule includes: 6 p.m. meal; 6:30 p.m. - large group gathering; 6:30 p.m. - Celebration Place (CR for Kids); 7:30 p.m. - open share groups; and 8:30 p.m. - Solid Rock Café (desserts).

    8U Marion County All-Stars played in their first tournament over the weekend in Harrodsburg. They placed third.

  • Robinson steps down as cross country coach

    After one season at the helm, Dallas Robinson has stepped down as the head coach for the cross country team at Marion County High School.
    Robinson’s resignation was effective June 13. He could not be reached for comment as of press time.
    Robinson replaced Sherbie King, who stepped down as the cross country team’s coach in May of last year. King said his resignation was due to health issues.
