  • The Stephen Foster Story Musical is a Kentucky tradition

    I had the distinct pleasure to attend a dress rehearsal of The Stephen Foster Story in historic Bardstown on June 8. The talented cast was so entertaining and the night flew by. The musical is truly a great Kentucky story about the life and music of the talented Stephen Foster, one of America’s most influential songwriters. The show goes on even though this winter the closure of the J. Dan Talbott Amphitheatre was announced due to safety and structural concerns.

    Monday, June 25: salmon patty, Navy beans, coleslaw, ambrosia fruit salad, and cornbread.
    Tuesday, June 26: meatloaf, mashed potatoes, cabbage, peach crisp, and wheat roll.
    Wednesday, June 27: Mexican lasagna, broccoli, garlic breadstick, and cantaloupe.
    Thursday, June 28: barbecue chicken, macaroni and cheese, green beans, what bun, and baked apples and raisins.
    Friday, June 29: chicken and rice casserole, spinach, Jello cake, and wheat roll.
    All meals are served with skim milk.

    Hubbard
    Jeremy and Jessica Hubbard of Lebanon announce the birth of a 7-pound, 7-ounce daughter, Jasmine Lenee Hubbard, born June 7, 2018 at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
    Maternal grandparents are Joseph S. and Lisa W. Cooley of Louisville. Paternal grandmother is Sarah D. Russel of Tennessee. Great-grandparents are Gene Smith of Tipp City, Ohio and Mary L. Orberson of Lebanon.
    Jasmine Lenee has a brother, Lupe J. Mendoza and a sister, Alisia S. Hubbard.

  • Lyon and Brockman will marry June 30

     

    Jodie and Le Ann Lyon of Lebanon announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Josie Lyon, to Connor Brockman, son of Henry and Debbie Brockman of Lebanon.
    The wedding will take place at 1 p.m., June 30, 2018 at St. Charles Catholic Church with a reception to follow at Centre Square.

    The process of addressing school facilities is starting over.

    During the Marion County Board of Education’s meeting Thursday evening, June 14, Superintendent Taylora Schlosser recommended the board “slow down” and not move forward with the plan to build a new 8-9 center.

  • TRACK AND FIELD: Johnson resigns as track coach

    There were two head coaches leading Marion County High School’s track and field team. Now there’s one.
    Daniel Johnson has stepped down as track coach after six seasons, officially submitting his resignation on June 4 to school officials at Marion County High School.
    Johnson sent the Enterprise a copy of his resignation letter, citing outside responsibilities as the reason he resigned.
