    Second Chance Prom is March 21
    Did you miss your high school prom? Or, do you wish you could have a second chance at experiencing it again? If so, you’re in luck. A “Second Chance Prom” event is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, at Centre Square in Lebanon. The prom is for adults only, and will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight. A prom king and queen will be crowned. Tickets are $40 per couple or $20 per person. The event is being hosted by Melissa and Doug Hoisington and proceeds will go to the Marion County High School Marching Knights.

  • City council meets this afternoon

    The Lebanon City Council is scheduled to meet in regular session at 7 p.m. Monday, March 9, at city hall.

    The agenda includes the following:

  • Tourist commission meets this afternoon

    The Lebanon Tourist and Convention Commission is scheduled to meet in regular session at 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 9, in Room 300 of the Centre Square Convention Center.

  • Association for the Handicapped concert will be rescheduled

    The Marion County Association for the Handicapped planned to host a concert Friday, March 6, in Angelica Hall at Centre Square. That concert will not be held tonight.

    The event organizers are working on rescheduling the performance, which is also a fund-raiser for the association.

  • Snow plow involved in an accident Friday morning

     A Lebanon woman was transported to Spring View Hospital Friday morning as the result of an accident involving a snow plow and another vehicle.

    Patricia Mattingly, 69, was driving toward Lebanon on Highway 208 Friday morning. Near the intersection of Hwy. 208 and Lovers Lane her vehicle collided with a state vehicle with a snow plow near, according to Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Clements. Jason Benningfield, 32, of Finley was driving the state vehicle.

  • Arrest made in drive-by shooting incident

    The Lebanon Police have made an arrest in relation to a drive-by shooting Feb. 25 on West Chandler Street.

    Marquis Jacorey Douglas, 22, was indicted for attempted murder and first-degree criminal mischief. He is being held at the Marion County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.

    According to Lebanon Assistant Police Chief Greg Young, a caller reported hearing gunshots at 12:13 a.m., on West Chandler Street in Lebanon.

    When officers arrived they found a vehicle, belonging to Nathaniel Washington, had been shot four times, but he was not injured.
