  • Smith and Coots will marry in July


    Dr. and Mrs. Robert H. Smith of Lebanon announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Margaret Grace Smith, to Zachary Michael Coots, son of Michael and Denise Coots of Bardstown.
    Smith graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies/health concentration.
    Coots graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He will attend American University College of Law in September.
    A July wedding is planned.

  • First-ever Marion County Music Fest will feature local artists

    David Miles grew up in Marion County. It’s where he learned to play and perform as a musician, and now, he wants to give something back to his hometown community.
    Miles has organized the first Marion County Music Fest, which is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. June 13 at Johnston Field behind Centre Square in Lebanon. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the gymnasium at Centre Square.
    “I grew up in St. Mary’s, as did several of the guys who are participating in this,” Miles said.

    Diane Williams of Lebanon announces the forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Nicole Williams, to Chris Brady, son of Debbie and Keith Edelen of Loretto and Joey Brady of St. Joe.
    Williams is the daughter of the late Mikey Williams.
    The wedding will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 in little St. Joe. A reception will follow at St. Joe Community Center.
    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

  • Old Mill Days is June 12-13

    Bradfordsville will be hosting its annual Old Mill Days celebration June 12-13.
    The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with the pet show under the large pavilion at the Bradfordsville City Park.

    At 5:30 p.m. June 12, the doors open for the Old Mill Day Beauty Pageant at the Bradfordsville School. Participants must be signed in by 5:45 p.m., and the pageant will begin at 6 p.m.

  • Fenwicks celebrate 50 years of marriage


    Irvin and Beverly Fenwick of Lebanon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married June 19, 1965 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Francis.
    Irvin retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years. Beverly was the former Beverly Cecil.
    They have two daughters, Pam Shouse and Kim Hutchins, both of Bardstown; and four grandchildren.
    There will be a Mass celebration at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

  • 6-3-15 Birthday Announcement


    Logan Anthony King, son of Jeri Lynn and Rodney King of Versailles, celebrated his 5th birthday June 2, 2015.
    His grandparents are Alicia Higdon Matthews of Versailles, the late Bill Matthews and the late Jerry Pope, Rodney King Sr. of Versailles, and Rose and Danny Brown of Lexington. Great-grandparents are the late Frances Blair Higdon and the late Bernard Higdon, the late Nancy Tharp Pope and the late Bruce Pope, and Dorothy Doolin of Lexington and the late Lenroe Doolin.

    A Gaddie reunion will be held Saturday, June 13 at Lebnaon Methodist Church. A potluck lunch will be held at noon.

    Cocanougher 40th Annual Reunion will be held Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Potluck lunch will be around 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on U.S. 150 W. of downtown Perryville (just past Hillcrest Cemetery.)
