  • Bluegill are made to be caught any way you can

What’s the most pursued fish? Is it bass, catfish, crappie? Or maybe it’s the bluegill?
I’ll take the little “silver dollar” bluegill fillets, deep fried, any day over most anything else that swims.
Not only are the gills good to eat, they’re also the most prolific and easiest fish to catch!
This fish is literally the hook, line and sinker variety … well, add in a float!
The rod? Pretty much anything you can tie a line to — cane pole, fiberglass pole or just a skinny tree limb.

  • Kentucky’s future as auto manufacturers is bright

In 1913, when the automotive industry first set up shop in Kentucky, few then could have imagined just how much of an impact it would have on the commonwealth in the decades ahead.
It all began on South Third Street in Louisville, where 17 employees could assemble up to 12 of Ford’s Model T vehicles on a good day.
Now, we churn out more than 3,500 a day on average at our four assembly plants, or about 1.3 million a year. That’s a traffic jam stretching from Seattle to Miami.

  • Finding God in a changing world

    By Rev. Carrie Mook Bridgman

My father said to me once, "The Golden Years are not very golden."
He hates slowing down. He lost my mother, the love of his life — and then, thanks be to God, found another. His second wife does not replace my mother. She's a different person, and it's a different relationship, but he's found happiness again.

  • Bargain hunter's paradise

On Saturday morning, Arlene Mullins and Lorene Pittman were in Kroger parking lot looking over a selection of children’s clothing.
Mullins said they were on the lookout for anything and everything.

Like thousands of people, they were out looking for a good deal during the annual 400 Mile Sale, a yard sale event that spans the Bluegrass State along US 68.
“I love yard sales,” Pittman said. “You never know what you can find.”
