  • Goodbye, Scruffy

I could barely see his eyes when he showed up on my doorstep almost five years ago.

His long, stringy hair covered most of his face. His coat was wet and covered in mud. Parts of his body were covered with huge mounds of matted hair. He was very quiet, and seemed frightened. He wouldn’t let me get too close.

  • All will be made right

Exactly one year ago, I had no idea that Lebanon or Marion County existed. Exactly one year ago, I was not sure how exactly I fit into the world and where I wanted to go after graduation, and I was very overwhelmed by the unknown.

  • You are not alone

Last week, someone I love dearly confessed to me that she was a victim of sexual assault many years ago in college.

    I was shocked.

We are very close, and we tell each other everything. But, she never told me about this incident.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked her.

“I didn’t tell anyone,” she said.

  • Where is your conscience?

If you don’t know the definition of a conscience it is defined by Webster as “the sense or consciousness of the moral goodness or blameworthiness of one’s own conduct, intentions, or character together with a feeling of obligation to do right or be good.”

  • Celebrating entrepreneurship in our communities

From founders of retail and hospitality enterprises, to innovators in the technology and manufacturing sectors, to service providers who knew they could offer something new and better to the marketplace, our region is fortunate to be home to many entrepreneurs.
